Since 1979, Oral History Australia and its predecessor, the Oral History Association of Australia, has published an annual journal for the benefit of its members and the broader oral history practitioner community. The journal contains articles, reports and book reviews and in recent years has also included a section for peer-reviewed articles.
The publication was previously known as the Oral History Association of Australia Journal and since 2014 has been the Oral History Australia Journal (ISSN: 0158 7366).
The journal's content reflects the diversity and vitality of oral history practice in Australia and may include contributions from overseas. The views expressed by contributors do not necessarily reflect the views of the Editor, the Editorial Board or the publisher of the Oral History Australia Journal.
Since 2017 the journal has been published in an electronic format only.
